Older animals are prone to specific problems. They have more difficulty in getting about, and they can be knocked over by younger animals. Take care that they are monitored because they're more prone to problems like shock. Also, the affects of illness can be more prolonged. Older dogs are weaker and usually more stubborn. Their teeth are sometimes missing and yellow. Hearing and eyesight also can suffer, so you need to be more sympathetic and make allowances for behaviour. If they are hurt, they will take longer to recover.
